MoDOT's mowers, particularly the skids, face harsh conditions from gravel, sand, asphalt, concrete, and dirt, necessitating frequent replacements and maintenance muplitple times per cutting season. Traditional steel skids wear out quickly, leading to significant down time and labor costs.
Good Earth Tools applied tungsten carbide wear-proofing technology to the ground-contacting surfaces of the skid. The solution was first implemented on Alamo/Triumph Switchblade Sickle Mowers and later on John Deere, Bush Wacker, and Tiger Mowers.
