Limestone creates a harsh environment for equipment, driving extreme, pervasive wear that disrupts production schedules while ballooning costs. Our customer saw that again and again a their limestone grinding facility. After barely three months of production, the hard-facing protection on their OEM plow tips was completely worn, requiring expensive and downtime-driving change-outs.
Good Earth Tools lined the leading edges of their steel plow tips with solid tungsten carbide, adding twice the hardness and 25x more wear resistance to buffer against abuse.

After a full year of performance, most of the tungsten carbide on the wear-protected plow tips was still completely intact. That’s a 300% wear life increase — already a win for the processing plant.
But Good Earth Tools engineers took it a step further. After evaluating the used parts, we noted that the steel above the tungsten carbide protection was wearing out. Our team engineered a new set of plows and plow tips with full tungsten carbide coverage, setting the stage for an even bigger boost to longevity and productivity.
