The Challenge

At a Limestone Processing Plant, the OEM chromium-carbide blades on an industrial fan were quickly eroding and losing shape, making blade changeouts necessary after only 9 months of use. Every one of those changeouts cost the plant 36 hours of downtime and increased safety risk to employees.

Our Solution

To reduce wear issues and extend the operational life of each fan, Good Earth Tools applied StarCarb™ tungsten carbide protection to critical wear areas, including fan blades, whizzer blades, the whizzer disc, and each leg of the spider assembly.
